June 1-5, 2017 Bear River Writers’ Conference at the University of Michigan’s Camp Michigania on the lovely Walloon Lake in northwest Michigan. The 2017 Conference is full, but you can ask to be put on the waiting list by emailing bearriver-questions@umich.edu. Each year registration begins sometime around January 30. June and July 2017 Iowa Summer Writing Festival in Iowa City, Iowa. The 2017 schedule is now listed, and this is one of the best, if not the best, festival in the U.S. You can take weekend and week-long classes in many genres. I’ve taken one of each. back to back, and loved them. I still stay in touch with another student many years later.
