Saying goodbye

Another class is over yet the journey of these students continues. Their final readings about nature were glorious. Truly. They laid bare their deepest truths within the sanctity of our little group. Beautiful.

I started to miss each student–including those not able to be there–even before the class began. It’s such a privilege to foster their growth by creating a safe space, teaching them a little craft and pushing them to enter and work on their own writings (rather than my “assignments”).
So life goes on and my own journey continues. My writing is taking hold bit by bit with a huge nonfiction book project that in many ways I’ve been preparing for since the mid-1980s. The largess scares me yet I know it can only be written word by word.

So lets all begin today, writing something of meaning about nature, word by word.
